In fruits, for example, citrulline is found in large quantities in watermelon. The synergistic combination of the amino acid L-Citrulline with malic acid results in L-Citrulline Malate. Malic acid (malate) is an organic acid found in nature (e.g., in apples). The amino acid L-Citrulline is the basis for the production of the amino acids L-Arginine and L-Ornithine.
